First Blog Post: How it all started..

What an awesome summer it has been!  I have been a Yelp elite for over 6 years, and I have been posting pictures on Instagram for over 3 years.  I also had a chance to write some posts for Huffington Post on a voluntary basis through my membership with Foodietribe.  It was not until this year that I started to take food blogging even more seriously, especially when it came to taking the perfect shot, planning the flow of pictures on my Instagram, and being consistent in when and how I post.
In July, I changed my username to become a food-related username, @nomsandbeyond. I also happened to come across a contest on an Instagram page I was following, @hungryhugh, who was giving away tickets to Angeleno Magazine's Live and Dine L.A. 2016 event at the beautiful Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, CA.  It was an event held by Angeleno Magazine showcasing a variety of great restaurants here in Los Angeles, including food from over 30 different vendors, cocktails, live music.  When @hungryhugh announced me as the winner, I was so excited to finally meet Hugh as I had been a long time follower and admirer of his instagram page.

In addition to meeting @hungryhugh, I also met @kateatsla and @foodwithseoul, who are other food bloggers on Instagram.  @foodwithseoul stayed in touch with me after the event and invited me to my very first media event in August.  It felt like I was officially inducted into the food blogging community!  Ever since then, I have received invitations from bloggers and restaurants to attend media events and tastings.  It has been so inspiring meeting other people who are just like me, who can't resist taking a picture and posting about what they are about to eat, and who will not judge me for doing the same.  It has been so rewarding and fulfilling (and filling!) to be able to take part in influencing the community on the latest places to check out.

My photography and my writing have been a work in progress over many years but through networking and connecting with other people, I have been encouraged to keep on improving.  I am still learning but I hope you stick around to see how it all goes!
