Just like that, we are halfway through the year! Here’s my recap of the past few months of continuing to support and promote awesome local businesses!
1) Feng Cha Tea House (Monterey Park, CA) - @thefoodiefilmmaker
I had the opportunity to help promote one of my favorite drink spots as well as film behind the counter during my visit (Tiktok video: https://www.tiktok.com/@nomsandbeyond/video/7247522632067960110). It was so fun! I got the Bursting Dragon Fruit, Kiwi Basil Green Tea, and Sea Salt Pearl Dessert. The dessert was so unique and delicious, and had the look of a souffle pancake, but the cake itself was like a sponge cake.
2) Dough & Arrow (Costa Mesa, CA) - @andythenguyen
Andy Nguyen and Dough & Arrow came up with “Andy’s Cookie” for the month of May, where proceeds of the cookie sales would be donated to AAPI LA. It’s a Vietnamese inspired corn dessert cookie, topped with sweet corn (Vietnamese che bap), coconut cream, & butter mochi! Dough & Arrow also gave us other cookies, including the Funfetti, Ube Cookie, Smookie, Creme Brûlée Cookie, and Cereal Killer! I also got a Tiramisu Latte.
3) Ike's Love & Sandwiches (Monrovia, CA) - @dogandaduck
I was so happy when Ike's Love & Sandwiches opened up in Monrovia earlier this year, and was excited to help promote their Online Ordering and Pickup, as it was better than using a third party service. It is located in a plaza where I typically run errands, so it was very convenient. The wait time in the app was very accurate and the sandwiches were delicious! I got the Paul Reubens, Matt Cain and Nacho Boy sandwiches, some chips and some drinks. I loved that they threw in those signature lollipops!
