June 2018 Recap!

June has come and gone, full of events and collaborations. I can’t believe we are halfway through the year!

1. Halal Guys (Los Angeles, CA) - @eatersanonymous @tpham

I got an invitation to check out the new wings at Halal Guys!  The wings were so delicious, and came in mild, BBQ and spicy flavors.  I loved how saucy the wings were and that they came paired with fries and sauce over them!

2. Tea Station (San Gabriel, CA) - @foodwithsoy @duckychangpro

I had no idea Tea Station offered so many food items.  I had previously only visited for their drinks only. It was fun checking out some drinks and Taiwanese snacks and dishes.  I got to try a bit of everything, such as takoyaki, popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, curry katsu, and chicken wings! At the end we got to take home a tea set!

3. Wheat Shop (Pasadena) - Guest of @toenaylean.eats

Wheat Shop was promoting high tea, and it was such a fun and cute concept.  The drinkware they had available was so adorable and I absolutely enjoyed the croissant sandwich they included in the high tea menu.  Hopefully in the future, they offer more food variety in the high tea menu!

4. Urban Cate (Los Angeles, CA) - Guest of @misspiggieeats

I was invited to check out this newly opened cafe in Koreatown.  Everything about this place was Instagram-worthy, from the marble tables, to plentiful natural lighting, to the outdoor patio area!  The food and drink options were definitely very memorable as well. I loved the Coffee Soda, Bulgogi Burger, Avocado Toast, Quattro Berry Toast, and their lattes!

Other June events/collaborations:

I was invited for a 626 Night Market media preview, to check out at least 10 vendors that would be at either the 626 Night Market, OC Night Market or both!  I loved everything we got to try! A few of my favorites were @norigamitacos, @thebonkslab, @ramentatsunoya, @loveholisticbar, and @paellapaella2017!

I was a part of a Yelp event with Labobatory, where we got to meet Elton and were entertained by his magic tricks. I had fun mingling, trying the drinks and snacking. We also got to take home some Yelp shot glasses!

I was so happy to be able to join one of the Westfield Santa Anita Food Crawls this year!  We stopped by 5 restaurants and had a beer pairing at each spot! We started at Din Tai Fung, then went to Monkey Bar, Wing Hop Fung, Haidilao Hot Pot, and Sichuan Kungfu Fish!

Quinn Snacks and Revfluence wanted me to check out their popcorn products and I got to pick six flavors!  What I loved about these was that I could add in the ingredients after popping, which I usually do with herbs and regular buttered popcorn.  I liked that the ingredients wouldn’t be microwaved and that the bag itself had no chemicals or plastics!

Check out my monthly Milk and Eggs collaborations from May here and here!  Also worth mentioning is my first meal kit experience through Chef’d here!
