October 2019 Recap!

October was a month full of sweet treats! I can’t wait to show you more pictures from November’s upcoming Dessert Goals event as well!

1. Bake Cheese Tart (Los Angeles, CA) - @noms.from_japan

I was so excited when I heard that Bake Cheese Tart was coming to Southern California. It was located at the beautiful Westfield Century City, and they served four flavors: original, strawberry, matcha, and chocolate. This was my first time trying their cheese tarts, and they were so moist and mousse-like inside; for cheese tarts, I would expect a more dense, cheesecake-like texture. This was very unique and delicious!

2. Dot & Dough (Monterey Park, CA) - @eatslucywang

Dot & Dough wanted to promote their Fall/Halloween flavored malasadas, just in time for Halloween. Their new flavors included Salted Caramel Creme Brulee, Cookies and Cream, and Charcoal with Black Sesame. We also got to take home the Taro and Matcha flavors. My favorite would have to be Cookies and Cream!

Other collaborations/events:

@omgdessertgoals is going to be hosting a Dessert Goals event early November, so Powerhouse Communications, who was working with the Omgdesserts team, invited me to stop by Afters Ice Cream to help promote the event. I brought a tie-dye fabric to match the theme of the event: Tie-Dye Tiki! The event will be featuring 20+ dessert vendors under one roof! I’ll post event photos in the next monthly recap!

Ninja Kitchen and Mavrck wanted me to try The Ninja Foodi Blender, which was not only capable of creating smoothies and frozen drinks; it can also create soups, sauces and dips because of its heating element. It was such a great addition to my collection of appliances at home!

Empress 1908 Gin and AspireIQ wanted me to create cocktails at home using Empress 1908 Gin. I had fun playing with the colors, as citrus can change the color from an indigo blue to a soft pink.
