November 2019 Recap!

November was full of awesome treats and surprise collaborations!

1. Bake Cheese Tart (Los Angeles, CA) - @hello.jenni

We were so happy to get invited once more to Bake Cheese Tart at Westfield Century City. During this visit, I was able to get better photos than last time, and what was also different about this visit was that we got to try the soft serve! We got the Hokkaido Milk and Matcha soft serve swirl and it was so delicious! We got a free shirt to take home as well as a box of cheese tarts.

2. Tsurumaru Udon Honpo (Los Angeles, CA)

Tsurumaru Udon Honpo wanted to share with us some new menu items as well as their catering menu! I had tried their food at the Westfield Santa Anita location before, and remembered they had a pretty good variety of items on the menu. We got to try the Catering Plate (croquette, kushikatsu, gyoza, edamame, tempura, karaage chicken), Bento Boxes (Grilled Mackerel and Pork Katsu), Udon (Niku Bukkake Udon, Matcha Udon with Lemon Zest, Katsu Udon), Onigiri and Takoyaki, as well as take home a T-shirt and some vouchers.

Other collaborations/events:

I got the opportunity to photograph some behind the scenes at Paderia Bakehouse and take some items home for photographing as well! The focus for this month was the Elf on the Shelf, so we had fun placing him in different areas of the bakery.

We attended @omgdessertgoals’ Dessert Goals event (through Powerhouse Communications) and it was pretty awesome seeing about twenty dessert vendors in one place! There were different sections and different things to sample, with plenty of opportunities to take photos! For a few vendors, we redeemed a few complimentary goodies, and we were able to purchase from all the vendors as well. My favorite vendor was Pacific Pops!

Knafeh Queens wanted me to try their knafeh cupcakes! All I had to do was bake them at home, drizzle some syrup on top and garnish with pistachios (optional), and it was ready to eat! It was so good. I am such a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine and I loved the knafeh cupcakes, and loved that they’re local too, in Rancho Cucamonga!

Speaking of Mediterranean cuisine, I also got to try some popcorn with za’atar seasoning from Zesty Z, which was a very cool concept! They sent me three flavors: Feta & Za’atar; Savory Za’atar, and Spicy Za’atar. My favorite was the one with feta! They also sent me a few za’atar condiment and spread jars to try!.
