June 2019 Recap!

June has been a very busy and productive month, due to travel and some life changes. Although District M was from May right before I traveled from Atlanta to Los Angeles, the rest of these tastings were in June!

1. District M (Atlanta, GA) - @droolius

Our friend Julius (@droolius) set up a tasting during my visit to Atlanta, and it was such an amazing experience. We got to sit at the bar and watch everything made in front of us, omakase style (chef’s choice)! We got the Oyster Ponzu Jelly, Wagyu Ssam, O-toro Tartar Caviar, Sashimi Flight, Miso Glazed Black Cod, and Assorted Nigiri, Green Tea Mule and Sakura Smash. For dessert, we got Chocolate Mousse and Japanese Pudding.

2. The Dive Steam Kettle Cooking (Temple City, CA) - @foodwithsoy @celinelinarte @eatersanonymous @tpham

The Dive SKC was celebrating the opening of their new craft cocktail bar, and also wanted to share with us their happy hour options. We got Pan Roast with Chicken and Andouille Sausage, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Cioppino, and Bread Pudding. For drinks we got the Rose Petal, Japanese Lychee Dreams, and Moscow Mule. It is such a fun interior and atmosphere; I would definitely recommend people to check them out!

3. 626 Night Market Preview (Arcadia, CA)

I am always so excited to be invited to the 626 Night Market Preview, as we get to check out some awesome vendors that would be at the yearly event. From this year’s preview, we got to try food from @eatmainchick, @ilovekickinballs, @lacuilleregourmet, @littlefluffyhead, @nachoslab, @riceandnori, @rkknfood, @scoopsontap, @spicebitesfood, @thegoldenmarrowla, @titasofmanilaus, and @wanderlustcreamery! It was such a fun event, as always!

4. Ramen Kenjo (Los Angeles, CA) - @misspiggieeats

I am a huge ramen fan and was excited to check out Ramen Kenjo at USC Village! I felt we got to try a good variety in broths, whether it was a creamy broth, a clear broth, or a spicy creamy broth. We got the Shadow Maker, Shoyu with Chicken and Spicy Miso, Gyoza Dumpling, Pork Belly Donburi Rice. Everything we had was so savory!

5. Panana Night Market (Ontario Mills, CA)

We got invited to the opening day of Panana Night Market, which is the first night market event I have ever seen in the Inland Empire! I liked how big the space was and how diverse the vendors were! We got to try food from @foodylab626, @hawaiianhoneycones, @mybearylicious, @mydelightcupcakery, and @tacos_el_gringo. I enjoyed checking out their night market and am happy to see these events happening more and more each year!
