February 2020 Recap!

February was a pretty eventful month! Check out the media events I was a part of last month!

1) Yardbird Southern Table & Bar (Los Angeles, CA) - Guest of @misspiggieeats

I had sampled a few of Yardbird’s items during a Yelp event a while ago, and I was happy to come with @misspiggieeats to try out a tasting menu from Yardbird! We got the Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles, Butter Lettuce & Grilled Mango Salad, Shrimp and Grits, Deviled Eggs, Fried Green Tomato BLT, Chicken & Smoked Brisket Biscuits, St. Louis Style Ribs, and Deep Fried Oreo. It was such an amazing meal!

2) Cafe Sakana (Newport Beach, CA) - @sylvia.wakana

We were invited to check out the menu at Cafe Sakana! There was a tasting menu that included a few appetizers (Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna, Salmon Fresca, Rock Shrimp Tempura), The Ocean Set (including Tuna Sashimi, sixes pieces of Nigiri, Blue Crab Handroll, and Bluefin Tuna Handroll), Chicken Tempura Donburi, and Salmon Teriyaki Donburi. We also got the Olivia Roll to try! That was my first time having a roll with a sliced lemon on top! It was such an amazing meal and everything was so fresh and presented beautifully!

3) SAJJ Mediterranean (Los Angeles, CA) - @ajenda_pr

SAJJ Mediterranean has many locations in the bay area and a few in Orange County, so I was happy to see that they opened one in Downtown Los Angeles! I love Mediterranean food and I love their concept in that every item is customizable! We got a rice bowl, a SAJJ wrap, drinks, and some chickpeas and a few of their desserts to take home, such as baklava and cinnamon chips with chocolate hummus.

4) Kitchen United Mix (Pasadena, CA)

Kitchen United Mix is a space with 10+ restaurants where customers can order for pick-up or delivery. It was definitely a very unique experience, where it’s catered toward people who don’t want to dine in, however, there were a few seats and tables for people who wanted to grab a quick bite while they were there. I got food from a few vendors, such as Rori’s Creamery, Freiburger, and Amazebowls. On the ordering tablet, we were able to choose if we wanted utensils and straws, or if we planned to dine in. Even if I forgot to include something after I placed the order, for example, there was a staff member standing by to assist us with any issues.

Other February events/collaborations:

Screamin’ Sicilian and Mavrck wanted to showcase their pizzas on my feed. I enjoy trying different frozen pizzas as they’re a great convenient snack or quick meal!

The Feedfeed invited me to a talk called “Discovering a Healthier Body, Mind, and Spirit in 2020”, where we got to hear a talk on wellness and sustainable steps in order for us to reach our goals. We also got to try some non-alcoholic drinks from Seedlip, try some essential oils from Saje Wellness, and receive a necklace and cards from MyIntent.
